About

We have received a community grant from the government to enable us to provide a selection of activities over the summer holidays. Most of these activities will be held at The Gathering, though some may also be held outdoors. The activities will be kept informal and fun, but due to Covid-19 a structure and a number of measures will be in place to enable us run these activities safely. Due to social-distancing measures, spaces for these activities will be limited, and young person will need to be pre-book onto an activity in advance.

Based on feedback from the young people and their parents/guardians, we are aware in this time that there is a specific need for educational and mental health support. There is also a general desire from the young people to use this time in a positive way. We aim to meet these needs and desires by putting on a wide-range of different activities which will include: Outdoor Activities, Music Lessons, Extra Maths, Extra English, GCSE Support, Practical Life Skills, Art & Craft, and Cookery.

Each activity will be run in small groups. The Gathering will be complying with government guidelines and the young people will be expected to follow the Covid-19 risk assessment for the premise. There will be paid tutors helping with the educational needs and the music lessons.

6 weeks of activities, 6 web pages

We are running activities over 6 weeks in July and August. For each week there is a dedicated page, timetable and booking form. You can navigate to the respective pages for each week to browse the activities on offer. There is then a booking form that can be found on the same page which you can use to book your child onto a particular week. Please note that the timetable and booking forms are different for each week.

To keep people safe, each activity will have limited spaces and it will be on a first come, first served basis. If particular activities are significantly over-subscribed, we will work to put on additional sessions. Once you have submitted a form, you will receive a text from Carl Mimmack confirming if you have a space on the requested activities.
